Chapter 10

YAYA

Back In Pensacola, Florida

9:30a.m.

Shaun was finally letting me go back to work after keeping me cooped up for the last three days. I swear that nigga thought he was my daddy. I wasn’t complaining, though, because he was making up for being so overbearing. Today, he would be chilling with me at the boutique.

“Just to keep an eye on you,” he’d said.

I didn’t protest. As much as I didn’t want him in my boutique stirring up ruckus with his fine ass, it was the only way Shaun would let me set foot inside of LIV. Whoever had attacked me was still in the wind, and Shaun was being vague whenever I asked him questions. The day after my attack, Shaun had gone to the boutique to view the surveillance. Unfortunately, with the way the guy was dressed, Shaun could only make out his build as well.

Detective Wade was still calling to check on me, promising that he was working hard on my case. Whatever he said, I let that shit go in one ear and out the other. He’d called this morning while Shaun was in the shower. I wasn’t going to answer it but decided to because he would’ve just called back. This nigga had the nerve to try to ask me out! I politely let him down, though, citing I wasn’t interested in dating anyone at the moment. It wasn’t his business that Shaun had been knee-deep in my pussy, not an hour before he called.

“You ready, baby?” Shaun asked, sidling up behind me. I was sitting at the vanity mirror that was in my room, applying some balm to my lips. “That balm gon’ get sucked off in a minute, so I’on know why you even putting it on.”

I laughed. He was right. Every time I had anything on my lips, he’d kiss it off. I leaned my head back to look up at him. He was standing behind me with his hands on my shoulders.

I was hurting. That early morning Shaun took my virginity had only been the beginning. He’d spent the entire day catering to me. Although we stayed in the house all day, I was given breakfast in bed, a full body massage, catered lunch, and dinner prepared by his mother. I have to say that Shaun was impressing me. Before the sun had come up, I vaguely remember being carried into the bathroom and placed in a warm bath. Shaun had bathed me. It had helped soothe the aching between my legs. This nigga was showing me sides of him that made me think he really cared. As much as I’d been around him the last few days, I felt like I barely knew him. The Shaun I was seeing was a gentleman. However, the Shaun I experienced when Detective Wade was around seemed menacing.
